Tell me a continent - Colour, Abstract work
A colour map to work with the Montessori continent work. This complements the concrete work and meets children or young people wherever they are. These materials are created to be used by ALL students regardless of previous Montessori experience and correlate with our "Tell me a Continent" Live class. Are you interested in work for your young student or intermediate student? Consider taking our Winter geography course. We would so love to have you there:)
1 digital download, coloured pencils suggested to work with fine motor skills, this PDF can also be used laminated and as a source for older students and a guide can also be created for special needs students, ESL students or however you would like to use this resource in your online, brick and mortar or homeschool environment.
Tell me a Continent 3 and 4 part Cards - C/G 1, 2, 3, 4
These cards are part of the secondary parts of learning about the continents. We call this the iconic part of lesson learning or picture learning.
These should not replace hands-on, 3-dimensional globes, or puzzle work that allows a child to trace or manipulate the global parts, but are designed to enhance learning.
It is recommended that a child begins with a globe, or round earth that just has the continents on it, so the child can see the continents, the oceans, the hemispheres, the poles, etc., and begin to get an understanding of how our world is shaped.
The cards start out with labeled guide pieces and become more advanced, including blank cards, so that children can do their own and extended research for the intermediate or advanced work for elementary.
No matter if you are in a traditional or Montessori environment, these cards should bring a good aid to help in the knowledge of geography and culture. Please enjoy and always remember to MODEL a lesson, how you would like the student to use the material including how to take it off the shelf, how to use the cards with little verbiage, (ancillary teacher talk), and also how to match the labels, the definitions, etc. For first-time students, use the first sets, for second exposure use the definitions, for third exposure, the bigger definitions, for advanced, create your own definitions through research. Also, remember to model the placing of the material back for the next student.
These Correlate with our Geography 1, 2, and 3 series, please see the website for more details
