There is a saying that indigenous tribes have about the strawberry, “The wild strawberry is the first berry food to appear in the spring, and this sacred plant is gathered at that time and eaten as a blood purifier…” (Mohawk). In the eyes of indigenous culture, strawberries known to the public have gone through nutritional degradation. Though they seem like a “normal” strawberry that has been untouched by time, the reality is that it has been altered, and therefore traditional values destroyed. Because it may taste, look, and smell the same as a natural strawberry, inside, its DNA is different, which is most likely causing different impacts on the environment and our bodies.

Enrollment provides access to our Google Classroom, learning platform, and videos.
