Pieces of 8 - The Madeline Hunter Model
The Madeline Hunter Method, often called, "Pieces of 8" is a way to include building blocks that create fantastic learning models. They include: objective, anticipatory set, input, modeling, checking for understanding, guided practice, independent practice, and closure
I am a big proponent of Anticipatory Sets, as they provide excitement for learning. Excitement for learning creates life-long learners, and after all, isn't that the main objective?
We hope you enjoy this small hand-out and it helps you to increase your ability to create a successful lesson plan, either in your homeschooling, or traditional schooling methods. I highly suggest these models as well even for Montessori.
Join us soon for our Anticipatory set course, to be announced this spring.
